Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has dismissed claims that he is looking to sell Lukas Podolski in the January transfer window, saying that for now he is an Arsenal player and that he wants him to stay.

With the arrivals of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck to north London, the German forward has found himself frozen out of Wenger's side so far this season, making just seven Premier League appearances so far this year.

But with rumours that Inter Milan are interested in taking the 29-year-old striker on loan, Wenger has dismissed the notion and said that he hopes to see Podolski stay at the club.

After a stuttering start to the season, back-to-back wins have seen Arsenal rise to 5th in the Premier League table at the end of 2014. Their next match sees the Gunners travel to face 4th-placed Southampton on New Year's Day.
