The Women in the City organisation has grown from an annual luncheon to a top organisation that recognises, promotes and rewards female talent across all business sectors.

Speaking to IBTimes TV on camera at the Women in the City awards event, the organisation's founder Gwen Rhys revealed a number of senior women who have led the charge in helping and inspiring other women across a range of sectors.

Initially, Rhys launched Women in the City in 2003 and has built a strong presence in London's business hubs. Its Annual Celebration Lunch is one of the City's signature events.

From previously rewarding senior female professionals across sectors such as financial services, healthcare, and insurance, Rhys said that each year the award selection process gets tougher and tougher as more women are inspiring and helping others to reach influential positions.
