Atletico Madrid face an uphill task in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against cross-town rivals Real Madrid at the Vicente Calderon on 10 May.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7.45pm BST. The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport 2.

Overview

Atletico Madrid warmed up for the visit of city-rivals Real by beating Eibar 1-0 at the Vicente Calderon on 6 May. Diego Simeone's side lost the first leg of the semi-final 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu last week and face a tall order to qualify for the final in Cardiff.

Defender Juanfran is available for the hosts after he recovered from a thigh injury.

Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez each scored a brace as Real Madrid beat Granada 4-0 to keep pace with La Liga leaders Barcelona on 6 May. The capital club have only won one of their last seven away games in the semi-final stage of the Champions League.

Gareth Bale and Dani Carvajal remain sidelined through injury for the visitors.

What managers say

Diego Simeone: "We have a very difficult match on Wednesday. For many, it's impossible, but for us, it's not. If we're all together and understand that it's a semi-final at home, we'll have our chances. We need precision and peace of mind for Wednesday's game." [via Football Espana]

Zinedine Zidane: "We will relax, thinking about Wednesday, which is going to test us a lot more than tonight, and we are going to have to have a perfect game. We did well scoring so soon [against Granada] and this made things happen. The first half was phenomenal, we took the chances that we had. We kept going, it was important to continue to be on top of the table and now we have three finals left – and the other on Wednesday in the Champions League." [via Marca]
