David and Victoria Beckham 'Reluctant' To Reach Out on Brooklyn's Birthday Amidst Nicola Peltz Stand Off
David and Victoria Beckham face uncertainty over reaching out to Brooklyn on his birthday amidst ongoing family drama.

David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly wrestling with how to handle their eldest son's upcoming birthday, as their estrangement from Brooklyn Beckham shows little sign of easing. The couple are said to be unsure whether to reach out when he turns 27, amid ongoing tension between Victoria and Brooklyn's wife, Nicola Peltz.
A Birthday Unlike Any Other In The Beckham Household
Brooklyn Beckham, born on 4 March 1999, is set to celebrate his 27th birthday soon, but it appears his famous parents may not be on the guest list. The eldest Beckham child has relocated to the United States with Nicola and, according to reports, has shown no intention of visiting David and Victoria since posting an explosive statement on social media in January.
Despite the rift, Brooklyn's parents are understood to be open to reuniting with their son on his birthday. However, they reportedly have serious reservations about how he might react to any unexpected approach.
According to a source who spoke to Metro, David and Victoria are understandably 'disappointed' that they will not be able to see their son 'for his birthday this year'.
The insider said the couple want to 'celebrate together as a family' and 'love doing big family dinners with all of the kids'. At the same time, there is said to be a 'reluctance to reach out this year, which is devastating'. The source added that Brooklyn's previous statement made it clear he does not want anything to do with his parents and that 'it's best to leave any thoughts of a reunion up to him for now.'
What Happened To The Beckhams?
Earlier this year, Brooklyn published a series of blunt accusations against his family on social media. In a lengthy statement shared in January, he claimed David and Victoria had been 'controlling' and had repeatedly interfered in his life and marriage — allegations the Beckham family have not directly refuted in public.
Brooklyn said he was 'humiliated' when Victoria interrupted his first dance with Nicola at their 2022 wedding. His statement also accused relatives of being disrespectful to his then‑fiancée during the wedding preparations. He rejected suggestions that Nicola is controlling him, insisting it is actually his own family who had been controlling him 'his whole life'.
'I grew up with overwhelming anxiety,' Brooklyn wrote. 'For the first time in my life since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.'
Perhaps the most damning part of his message was the declaration that he has no plans to reconcile with his family any time soon. That stance now raises the possibility that David, Victoria and the rest of the Beckhams will not be invited to mark his 27th birthday, at least this year.
Brooklyn was last publicly seen with his parents in December 2024. The aspiring photographer first fuelled estrangement rumours when he did not attend his father David's 50th birthday celebration. Since then, Brooklyn and Nicola have largely kept their distance, remaining in the United States and away from the rest of the family.
