Liverpool have secured a berth in the Carling Cup final after a gap of more than 15 years, aided by a late leveller by Craig Bellamy. On Wednesday night, the Reds stunned Manchester City with a dramatic 2-2 draw at Anfield, which helped them secure a 3-2 aggregate win.

Nigel de Jong scored the opener from a distance on 31 minutes. But Liverpool drew level on 40 minutes with Steven Gerrard scoring with a penalty shot.

Edin Dzeko scored the second goal for City, tapping home a timely Kolarov cross on 67 minutes. But Bellamy's 74 minute finish ensured a Wembley final berth for the Reds against Championship side Cardiff City late next month.

City lost the first-leg clash against Liverpool 1-0 early this month.
