Suspects take selfies on stolen phone for police to use West Midlands Plice

Obliging suspects in a mobile phone robbery took selfies on the device which police have used in an appeal to track them down.

Three men appear in photos taken on the phone which was stolen on New Year's Eve in Birmingham.

It was taken from a woman who was returning from a night out when she was shoved to the ground by robbers, who stole her clutch bag containing the phone.

After the robbery the woman received photos from the three men pictured via the messaging app WhatsApp.

Police want to identify the men pictured over the crime and that task has been made a lot easier.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Anyone with information about the robbery or the men pictured are urged to contact police on 101 or alternatively information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
