Chelsea are interested in bringing Newcastle United forward Demba Ba to Stamford Bridge next season, as the London club look to improve their strike force, according to a Daily Mail report.

Ba has two more years left on his Newcastle contract but reportedly has a release clause in the region of £10m, which interests several Premier League sides. The Senegalese hitman has been in sublime form for the Toons this season, finding the net 16 times in 25 matches.

Newcastle would obviously like to hold on to Ba for at least one more season but recent comments made by the club's managing director Derek Llambias, about the need to balance the books, give reason to think their most-wanted player could leave the club this summer.

Napoli's Edinson Cavani and Porto's Hulk are also on top of Chelsea's list, according to the report, as both Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou will be out of contract in the summer and Fernando Torres has struggled to make any impact since arriving from Liverpool for £50m over a year ago.
