Chelsea take on Paris Saint-Germain in a pre-season friendly at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina as part of the International Champions Cup.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 11pm BST. Live coverage of the game will be on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

Chelsea come into the game on the back of a 4-2 defeat at the hands of MLS club New York Red Bulls and will be hoping to get some momentum ahead of a crucial Community Shield game against Arsenal next weekend.

The Blues ended their five-year wait for a Premier league title in 2014 when they ran away as comprehensive winners, finishing the league seven points ahead of their closest rivals Manchester City. Jose Mourinho will be looking to retain his title but knows it will be a more difficult task this time around, with clubs around them strengthening this summer.

The Blues did not compete in the tournament in 2014 but were part of the inaugural version in 2013. Manchester United and Manchester City are the two other Premier League teams involved in the competition, with Barcelona and Real Madrid also in the mix.

This is Paris Saint-Germain's first participation in the tournament and they will be looking to renew their rivalry with Mourinho. They had defeated his club to move into the quarter-finals of the Champions League on away goals last season. Laurent Blanc is on the verge of signing Angel di Maria from United and will be looking to build a chemistry in the team, so as to progress further in Europe next season.

They have done a good job of their pre-season thus far, scoring 10 goals in their last three games, with Benfica and Fiorentina feeling the force of their attack. Should they manage to get the better of Chelsea, it will be a massive achievement for Blanc going into the start of next season.
