A GP from London has been found guilty of concealing a stash of 'extreme' pornography, including a video of a man having sex with a snake and a woman having sex with a horse. Cyprian Okoro, from Streatham in south-west London, stored the disgusting images on his Samsung mobile phone having received them via his mobile messaging app WhatsApp.

The Old Bailey heard how he had five videos of a "grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise obscene character" on his mobile including women having sex with dogs, a man having sex with a snake and a woman having sex with a horse.

The doctor, originally from Lagos, Nigeria, was found guilty of five counts of possessing extreme pornography and one indecent image of a child, despite denying the charges. The images were said to be of a "grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise obscene character".

The court had heard how Okoro had moved an indecent video of a two-year-old boy into a password-protected "vault" hidden on his phone. In total, the jury deliberated for less than a day to find him guilty of the charges, but not guilty of two charges relating to the possession of extreme pornography relating to bestiality with dogs.

Once the verdict was announced the jury was told it was Okoro's second conviction for similar offences. It emerged that in 2014 he was handed a nine-month jail term suspended for 18 months at Norwich Crown Court for possessing one indecent image of a child and five counts of possessing extreme pornographic images.

Following his conviction he took his case to the Court of Appeal where he successfully overturned the result, with a retrial yet to take place.

Judge Richard Hone QC said according to the BBC: "He is very lucky not to be immediately imprisoned and this was quite a bad case. It would be unfair to put him immediately in prison when the first trial gave him a suspended sentence - even if it was frankly, pretty lenient."

The court heard how Okoro qualified as a doctor in Nigeria, in 1986, and received an interim suspension by the General Medical Council (GMC) in 2013. After the verdict at the Old Bailey Okoro has been bailed until sentencing, due to take place on 30 September.
