Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg was fastest during the second practice session of the 2013 Brazilian Grand Prix, and will start Saturday's qualifying from the top spot at Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace.

Overview

Rosberg was the fastest in Friday's qualifying for the Brazilian Grand Prix after he clocked a time of 1:27.306, leading world champion Sebastian Vettel by 0.225s. The Red Bull driver was second while his team-mate Mark Webber was third.

Heikki Kovalainen was impressive in the previous race and has continued his form at Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace. The Lotus driver will start Saturday's qualifying from fourth place while Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is fifth, with a time of 1:28.147.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso failed to finish in the top ten as he finished 11th, while his team-mate Felipe Massa was seventh in front of his home crowd. The Brazilian clocked a time of 1:28.540 in the second practice session on Friday.
