Two suspects have been arrested over a foiled plot to launch a terror attack on police and army personnel in the city of Orleans, French interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve has said.

The two men, aged 20 and 24, were in contact with a French jihadist in Syria, suspected of organising the plot, said Cazeneuve. The suspects are being held for questioning.

He said that 10 terror attacks have been foiled in France this year, after two of the worst terror attacks in French history in the capital, Paris.

On 13 November, 130 people were killed in attacks on bars, a sports stadium and a concert venue in the city.
