Frank Ocean is set to release his second album Boys Don't Cry today (5 August 2016) and fans are on the edge of their seats. The Swim Good singer has not officially announced the release date but sources close to Apple Music claim the album will drop exclusively through the streaming service imminently.

Snapchat have fuelled the release rumours by creating a Frank Ocean filters which are available in certain regions.

One features an OSX TextEdit window with "Dear Frank Ocean..." written in the box, perhaps an ode to the r'n'b singer's beloved Tumblr account. The other includes a bored skeleton with his head resting on his hand and the caption: "Waiting for Frank Ocean's music like..."

Details about Boys Don't Cry are incredibly sparse but a tracklist is rumoured to have leaked online. Boasting 14 tracks, song titles include Black Love, Summer Remains, Feel California, Insomnia and Golden City, while collaborations are listed with Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000 and Chance The Rapper.

The authenticity of the tracklist is yet to be confirmed but it appears to have been snapped from someone's iTunes music library. Perhaps confirming the tracklist, Chance The Rapper who features on the song Nikes tweeting on the expected release date: "These bitches want Nikes, but the real ones."

Adding to the anticipation, Ocean has relaunched the mysterious live stream on his official website. Hosted by Apple Music, the video still shows a desolate warehouse with a couple of workstations as white noise plays over the image. Francis Soriano, who directed Ocean's Lost music video, reportedly claims to have shot the live stream which he reportedly says is a looped clip.

Fans have awaited a new album from Ocean, 28, since the release of his debut album Channel Orange in 2012. The album reached number two in the UK and on the US Billboard 200 chart and earned the singer a Grammy award for best urban contemporary album. It was also nominated for album of the year.

Ocean is best known for the critically-acclaimed Nostalgia, Ultra mixtape and songs Novacane, Swim Good, Thinkin Bout You, Pyramids and Sweet Life.
