  • Brazilian claimed this week 19-year-old striker had agreed a new deal.
  • Juventus and Barcelona also linked with Brazil starlet.

Gabriel Barbosa has not signed a new contract with Santos having been linked with moves to Arsenal, Barcelona, Juventus and Chelsea this summer.

Barbosa, 19, has garnered a reputation as one of Brazil's brightest emerging talents and is set to represent his country at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August.

The forward could make an expected move to Europe after the competition, with clubs from the Premier League, Serie A and La Liga all credited with firm interest in the teenager. Reports last week however suggested the player was ready to extend his current contract with Santos until 2021, with the Brazilian giants even confirming themselves a deal had been agreed.

But speaking to Globo Esporte, Barbosa has dismissed those claims. "We are just talking. My parents and my representatives are talking. They have some things to discuss. I have proposals, too, but there is nothing confirmed yet.

"I need to talk with my parents and my representatives. We are talking and we are going to resolve it slowly."

According to ESPN Brasil, Arsene Wenger is a big admirer of the Brazil international with the Gunners lodging an initial offer in early July. Another forward remains a priority for the north London side, having missed out on both Jamie Vardy and Alvaro Morata this summer. Their London rivals Chelsea are also in pursuit and according to the Daily Mirror, Antonio Conte has greenlit a £25m move for the player. The report adds Barbosa will strongly consider a move to the Premier League.

Serie A champions Juventus are also firmly in the race, however. According to UOL Esporte, the Bianconeri are now favourites to sign him in a move that could possibly be completed as early as next week.
