Galaxy S3 LTE (GT-I9305) Gets Android 4.3 Update: New Features and Enhancements

Samsung has released the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software upgrade for the LTE variant of Galaxy S3 bearing model number GT-I9305. The update comes after Samsung resumed Android 4.3 roll-out service for the international version of the handset with model number GT-I9300.

This would be an exciting piece of information for users as Samsung never released Android 4.2.2 software for the both the LTE and non-LTE models of the Galaxy S3 and the devices are still running on the older Android version, 4.1.2.

The Android 4.3 firmware build bring several new features and performance improvements over the older Android 4.1.2. The UI is revamped completely, which is like the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3, notes Sammobile. Samsung is using the same TouchWiz launcher and widgets from Android 4.1.2. This might come in the future firmware builds. Among other key elements is the Knox security feature, missing in the Android 4.3 update for the global GT-I9300 variant.

As the update is released in phases it may not be available in all countries at the moment. But it is expected to reach all parts across the globe soon.

The Android 4.3 update with base firmware I9305XXUEMKC is currently available for the Galaxy S3 LTE users in Germany. Users can get the update by connecting the phone to the computer and using Samsung Kies or via Samsung's OTA service. To download and install the firmware through OTA, navigate to Settings>> More>> About phone>> Software update>> Update.
