Game of Thrones Season 4 ended on a cliffhanger and now fans of the popular HBO series can't wait to know how the plot unfolds in Season 5 which will only premiere next year.

The good news for fans is that filming for the new season might have already begun.

According to Christian Today, reports have surfaced claiming that filming for the new season has already begun - to meet its April 2015 premiere date.

"Although HBO has not announced any confirmed premiere date yet, it was speculated that the series will be back on air sometime in April next year," states the report.

Reportedly, the cast and crew of the series flew to Spain to film the fifth season of Games of Thrones. Shooting for the new episodes apparently started earlier this month in Sevilla which is going to be the set for Dorne.

A statement released earlier from the network reads:

"HBO is pleased to confirm that a portion of season five of GAME OF THRONES will be shot on several natural locations in the Province of Sevilla. Specifics on the locations will be announced closer to the time of production."

Game of Thrones Season 5 will be based on author George's R.R. Martin's 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series. As per reports, the fifth season will be based on the books – 'A Feast for Crows' and 'A Dance with Dragons'.
