Oscar-winning Queen Actress, Dame Helen Mirren was named "Body of the Year" in a survey commissioned by the LA fitness gym chain, which has more than 80 branches across the UK.

Researchers polled 2000 people for the report, which asked both men and women for their view on which stars looked the best no matter their age.

The survey released today proved that age really is just as number, as the 66-year-old beat the likes of American music star Jennifer Lopez, 42 and British royal sister-in-law Pippa Middleton to be named "Body of the year."

Both Middleton and Lopez are renowned for their curvaceous figures, more specifically their rear asset.

With 17 per cent of the vote, Mirren won top spot - beating 48-year-old Aussie supermodel Elle Macpherson in second place and 31-year-old actress Kelly Brookin third, British newspaper the Daily Express reported.

Its marketing director, Tony Orme, said: "Helen Mirren's victory in our Best Body poll illustrates how, when it comes to body maintenance and well-being, age really is nothing but a number.

Orme continued to say: "It's great to see the public celebrating bodies of all shapes and sizes, and proving that you really can look fabulous over 40 and 50.
