Who Is Eva Pilgrim, Inside Edition New Host Replacing Deborah Norville?
Eva Pilgrim takes over hosting duties on Inside Edition following years as a seasoned news anchor.

Just like that, Eva Pilgrim has become the new face of Inside Edition, making her its fourth-ever host and ushering in a new era. Pilgrim has taken over the iconic role following longtime host Deborah Norville's decision to leave the show earlier this year.
And while Pilgrim is new to Inside Edition, she's established herself as an anchor and correspondent throughout her career. Fans of the show may also be happy to learn that Pilgrim has some exciting plans for the show.
Who Is Eva Pilgrim, the Newest 'Inside Edition' Anchor?
Growing up an 'army brat' may have prepared Pilgrim for a career as a journalist early on. Born in South Korea to a military family with a South Korean mother and an American father from South Carolina, Pilgrim found herself on the move a lot, which, looking back, provided 'good training.'
'You learn how to make friends, you feel uncomfortable when you meet people you've never met before, and you know that that's going to happen every time,' she explained during an interview with People. 'It conditions you to just say the first thing and make the first move to have a conversation'
At some point, Pilgrim and her family settled down in South Carolina. Here, she found herself working at a local TV station while she was still studying. Later on, she also took up journalism in college.
By then, Pilgrim knew she had found her calling. 'Whether you were covering a sporting event or a community event, you got to be there in the middle of it,' she remarked. 'That I found to be kind of addictive.'
During one of her interviews, Pilgrim even got a man to confess to committing a crime. He was arrested following her report. '[That man] said all the things to me that day because I was in many ways naive, but I was curious and very human with him,' she pointed out. 'I wasn't asking him probing or prying questions.'
Over the years, Pilgrim had gone on to become an ABC News Correspondent, appearing in shows such as 20/20, Good Morning America, Good Morning America Weekend Edition, This Week, and ABC World News Tonight. More recently, Pilgrim also served as a co-host on GMA3 (following her exit, it was also revealed that Pilgrim's co-host, DeMarco Morgan, was also leaving the show).
Eva Pilgrim Plans To Take 'Inside Edition' Outside More
Since taking over for Norville, Pilgrim admits that she's rather 'overwhelmed' to be taking over a big role in a long-running show. That said, the seasoned anchor plans to put her own spin on the way Inside Edition has been delivering its stories.
For Pilgrim, the goal is for the show to do a lot more reporting outside and be present wherever the story is happening. 'I travelled the world and did multiple cycles in presidential elections and lots of weather tragedies,' she told Variety. 'Being in the field in that kind of way, you see people for who they really are.'
Meanwhile, Charles Lachman, Inside Edition's executive producer, also said that Pilgrim 'connects' with their current audience well. At the same time, she 'enticing to a new generation of viewers,' making her instrumental to the programme's continued success.
