DC Extended Universe (DCEU) fans have every reason to rejoice as the original movie of the extended superhero film Man Of Steel (2013) is all set to get a sequel with Henry Cavill shouldering on-screen responsibilities of Superman. The news comes from Lois Lane aka Cavill's co-star Amy Adams, who seemingly confirmed the sequel during a recent interview while promoting her new film, Arrival.

Speaking about the probability of a Man Of Steel 2, Adams told Hey U Guys that the script for the superhero movie is currently under development.

"I read about Man of Steel 2 when you guys did. A lot of times I find out after the fact, which is fine, it's completely normal, it's not indicative of anything. But yeah, I know they're working on a script and I know it's in the works," the 42-year-old actress told the website.

While Man Of Steel set the stage for DC's shared superhero universe, a second instalment of the Superman-led movie had not been worked upon. Instead DC went on to deliver the first movie under the shared umbrella – Batman v Superman: Dawn Of justice – which featured Cavill opposite a hunky Batman played by Ben Affleck.

Finally, the studio seems to have fast-tracked work on the Man Of Steel sequel after a hiatus of almost three years. Although, plot details have not been shared as yet, it is quite possible that a resurrected Superman will fight against evil in the second instalment.

Meanwhile, Cavill will be joining stars such as Affleck (Batman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jason Momoa (Aquaman), Ezra Miller (Flash) and Ray Fisher (Cyborg) in the upcoming Justice League film.

While the ensemble superhero movie releases on 17 November 2017, no release date has been announced for Man Of Steel 2.
