A Tennessee teacher has been suspended after high school students complained that they had been made to watch a horror movie in class. According to Jackson-Madison Consolidated School District Superintendent Verna Ruffin, the teacher had screened Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence), a grotesque horror film, for the students of Jackson Central-Merry High School.

"Upon learning of an alleged movie viewing, the district immediately launched an internal investigation regarding the alleged viewing of an inappropriate film at Jackson¬ Central-Merry High School," a press release said. "This investigation is ongoing. At the time the incident was reported, the teacher was immediately suspended and remains suspended pending the outcome of the investigation."

The teacher's reason behind the screening of the inappropriate film has not been revealed, but the film's director Tom Six commended the teacher's initiative and promised to send a signed copy of the film to him. He opined that the film, which deals a great deal with body mutilation, should be shown in schools. "It should be mandatory to watch THC2 in school classes. It deals with a character that is bullied and what to do," Six explained on Twitter

Centipede 2 follows the story of a man, who inspired by the first film, tries to create his own human centipede by sewing many people together.

The film was temporarily banned in the UK and Australia and continues to be banned in New Zealand for its extremely graphic content.
