Kate Winslet has joined the exclusive club of celebrities with Stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 38-year-old British actress, who was last seen in the 2013 American drama film Labor Day was honoured by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce with the star on 17 March at the Hollywood Boulevard in California.

Winslet's star on Walk of Fame is the 2,520th star in the category of Motion Pictures.

"We are so happy that Kate Winslet will be here on our famous Boulevard of dreams receiving her well-deserved star," said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

"We've seen Kate shine in her roles and fans around the world have been anxiously waiting for this special day to come."

The award winning actress was accompanied by actress Kathy Bates and director James Cameron who helped her unveil the star during the ceremony.

Actress Shailene Woodley, who stars with Winslet in her upcoming film Divergent, was the guest speaker at the event.

Winslet, who gave birth to her third child in December, wore a chic black dress for the ceremony that was watched by hundreds of fans who lined up the street.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce also gives stars to people from the broadcast, radio, theatre and music industries. All the Hollywood Walk of Fame stars are made of terrazzo and brass and each cost, approximately, $30,000.
