CyanogenMod 10 (CM10) has been made available for Samsung's Galaxy Note 2. This firmware is unofficial and stable brings some minor bugs. The Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) CM10 brings AOSP build for Galaxy Note 2. To follow the method, your device should be rooted and have a custom recovery installed in it.

  • Install the USB drivers for the Galaxy Note 2
  • Enable USB debugging mode
  • Your device should be left with minimum of 80 per cent battery
  • Ensure you have backed up all the data
  • Your device should be factory unlocked

To Install Android 4.1.2 CM10 Jelly Bean custom firmware on Galaxy Note 2:

  • Download Android 4.1.2 CM10 Jelly Bean ROM and Google Apps to your computer
  • Connect and mount your Galaxy Note 2 USB memory to the PC using the USB cable
  • Copy both downloaded zip files to the device's SD card
  • Switch off the device and unplug from USB cable
  • Enter recovery mode
  • Perform data wipe in CMW recovery. Scroll to and select flash zip from SD card and then press the Power key to select the file
  • Select choose zip from sdcard
  • Navigate to and choose the Android 4.1.2 ROM file. Tap on Yes to confirm the installation
  • Repeat above step to install Google Apps as well
  • After completing installation process, go to +++++Go Back and reboot the device by choosing reboot system now.

Your Galaxy Note 2 should now be running on Android 4.1.2 CM10 Jelly Bean firmware.
