Apple has launched the world's thinnest tablet, the 6.1mm iPad Air 2, which is almost unbelieveably thin, as well as now featuring Touch ID, a brand new A8X chip, and a revamped camera.
Here are all the details regarding pricing, specs, and release date for Apple's latest tablet:
iPad Air 2: Design
As we said, the big selling point (according to Apple) is the 6.1mm profile of the iPad Air 2, making it the thinnest tablet in the world. Making it thinner has also made it lighter at 467g.
So while the design hasn't really changed, the new iPad air 2 will feel much lighter in your hand.
iPad Air 2: Screen
While the resolution hasn't changed, Apple has updated the Retina display with an anti-glare coating with initial opinions suggesting this feature, rather than the thinness, could be the best feature of the new tablet.
iPad Air 2: Processor, Connectivty, Touch ID and Camera
The iPad Air 2 comes with an all new A8X chip which is more powerful than the A8 chip found in the iPhone 6. As well as more graphical power, the A8X chip promises to be efficient retianing the iPad Air's 10 hour battery life.
Apple has added in support for the faster Wi-Fi AC standard and will support download speeds up to 150Mbps. there are also 4G model available.
As widely expected, Touch ID comes to the iPad range, allowing users to unlock their tablets, purchase items in iTunes, and use Apple Pay - though only for online purchases and not point-of-sale.
Finally, on the hardware side, the iSight camera now features a new 8 megapixel sensor, while Apple has added 1080p video supoprt, slo-mo video, timelapse, and a burst shooting mode.

iPad Air 2: Pre-Orders and Release Date
The iPad Air 2 will be availalbe to pre-order from the Apple Store from Friday, 17 October with Apple saying the new tablets will be in store "later next week" with no specific details beyond that.
