Iranian Man Imprisoned After Schoolgirl Filmed Him Following Her Home and Offering £100 for Half an Hour of Sex

An Iranian man was jailed after a 13-year-old schoolgirl secretly filmed him following her through a Liverpool street and offering her £100 for 'half an hour' of sex. Saeed Salashoor, 39, was sentenced to two years at Liverpool Crown Court on 25 August after admitting inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

The court heard Salashoor followed the girl in Edge Hill, Liverpool, at about 3.30pm on 25 June as she walked towards a friend's house. He shouted at her, asked whether she was busy and offered £100 for sex.

Schoolgirl Recorded the Encounter

The girl began filming Salashoor on her phone as he followed her. He stopped and walked away when she started recording, the court heard. She then contacted her father and told him what had happened.

The following day, her father spotted Salashoor near Liverpool Women's Hospital, detained him and called police. Police found cannabis when Salashoor was searched. He was subsequently recalled to prison.

Salashoor Claimed He Was 'Set Up'

Salashoor initially claimed he had been 'set up', but later accepted that the words he used were inappropriate. He blamed cannabis for his behaviour, the court heard.

Prosecutor Peter Wilson told the court about the sequence of events and the recording made by the girl. Recorder Richard Thomas KC said Salashoor had persistently followed her and stopped only when she began filming.

The girl described the impact of the encounter in a victim impact statement read to the court. She said she felt frightened, sick and disgusted and had become fearful of going out alone.

She is now driven to school, the court heard. She also said she had become isolated and no longer trusted people in the same way.

Two-Year Prison Sentence

Salashoor pleaded guilty to inciting a child to engage in sexual activity at Liverpool Crown Court on 25 August. He was sentenced to two years in prison.

He was also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will remain on the sex offenders' register for 10 years.

The court heard that he had no previous conviction for a sexual offence. Salashoor's previous convictions included burglary and theft.

The court was told he had received a 26-month sentence for burglary in October 2024 and four months in prison in February 2026 after being convicted of nine theft offences.

Asylum Refusal and Fears of Deportation

Defence barrister John Weate told the court that Salashoor arrived in the UK in 2016 and had his asylum claim refused in 2019. He said an appeal had been started, although its status was not known to him, and that Salashoor feared deportation.

The court did not establish Salashoor's current immigration status. Any decision on deportation would be for the Home Office rather than the Crown Court.

Weate also said Salashoor had been homeless and had committed acquisitive offences to get by. He apologised through his barrister and was described as having received treatment for anxiety and depression while in prison.

Father's Intervention Helped Secure Arrest

The case began when the girl used her phone to record Salashoor as he followed her through Edge Hill. Her father later recognised him near Liverpool Women's Hospital and detained him until police arrived.

Merseyside Police had initially described the alleged victim as under 15 when Salashoor was charged in June. The Crown Court identified her as 13 during the sentencing hearing.

Salashoor is now serving his two-year sentence. He is also subject to the 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and 10 years of sex offender notification requirements.
