Jamie Dornan does not believe his portrayal of Christian Grey from Fifty Shades Of Grey was the most challenging role he has ever played. The Irish actor recently answered questions from fans during a rapid fire interview with Bafta Guru.

When he was asked, which was the hardest role he had ever played, the actor said: "I think probably Paul Spector from The Fall [a popular crime thriller by BBC]," completely ignoring his BDSM-obsessed character from the blockbuster film based on the 2011 erotic romance novel by British author EL James.

He added, "Because he's [Grey] just so heinous and I don't have anything going on in my life that I can compare to what he does." Fifty Shades has Dornan and Dakota Johnson in lead roles.

The first part of the franchise was a blockbuster and the second edition — Fifty Shades Darker — is currently in the pre-production stage and filming will commence in early 2016. It is expected to premiere in February 2017.

The 33-year-old actor also shared some interesting facts about himself during the 60 second interview. Dornan revealed that he wanted to play the role of Christopher McCandless in Into The Wild. "I really wanted to play that part but I never had an absolute chance of getting it," he admitted.

Dornan is married to British actress and singer Amelia Warner and the couple have a two-year-old daughter, Dulcie.
