Former Florida governor Jeb Bush may not have won the Republican nomination but at least he earned himself a cameo spot in the intro to the 2016 Emmys. Bush, who appeared as an Uber driver, made fun of himself and even took a swipe at GOP nominee Donald Trump.

In the award show's opening segment, host Jimmy Kimmel is looking for a ride to the Emmys when he hops into Bush's limo.

"Are you nominated?" Bush asks Kimmel. When Kimmel tells him he is — for Outstanding Variety Talk Series —Bush asks: "Wow, what's that like?" Kimmel tells Bush he is concerned about the chances his show has of winning, Bush takes a swipe at himself and his primary opponent.

"If you run a positive campaign, the voters ultimately will make the right choice," Bush jokes. Kimmel appears to not understand, to which Bush explains: "Jimmy, that was a joke, and shave that wig off your face you godless Hollywood hippie."

The opening scene ends with Jeb gleefully driving away, saying "Jeb exclamation point!" as the camera pans down to a Jeb! bumper sticker.

Bush was not the only mention of the presidential election during the Emmys. Kimmel made several pointed attacks against Trump, as well as producer Mark Burnett, who helped make Trump into a reality TV star with the Apprentice franchise.

"Many have asked who's to blame for Donald Trump and I'll tell you who, he's sitting right there, that guy — Mark Burnett," Kimmel said. "Thanks to Mark Burnett we don't have to watch reality shows anymore, we're living in one."

"Who do you have lined up to fill the spot on the Supreme Court," Kimmel joked. "Miley Cyrus or CeeLo?"

After the opening skit aired, Bush took to Twitter: "Hey, @jimmykimmel, I'm giving you 5 stars! How about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know?"
