Jeremy Meeks
Should have gone into modelling. Stockton Police Department

R&B star Mary J Blige may believe that "bad boys ain't no good" but one smooth criminal has won over legions of female fans after his mugshot was posted online.

Jeremy Meek was arrested in connection to a spat of shootings and robberies in Stockton, California, following a police operation to reduce violence in the area.

But after the 30-year-old's picture was posted on the Police department website to confirm his capture, his brush with the law was quickly forgotten.

Within hours the image had garnered over 30,000 Facebook 'likes' and 10,000 comments with many people - mostly women - complimenting his piercing blue eyes and chiselled looks.

"Can we be handcuffed together?" one admirer said.

Another said: "He can kidnap me anyday... Hold me against my will lol"

A third added: "Holy hell i would arrest him too..hottest bad boy I've see."

Some women even suggested that Meeks, who is clearly photogenic, should have chosen a more glamorous career path.

"Why is he breaking the law when he should be making millions modelling?"

A fan page set up for the tattooed bad boy now has over 10,000 'likes'.

Meeks, who was arrested along with four other men, remained in the San Joaquin County Jail on $900,000 bail. He is due to appear in court on Friday (20 June) afternoon.
