Kelly Osbourne has revealed she is 'getting a lot better' after a year of grief, health struggles, and relentless scrutiny over her weight following the death of her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

The 41-year-old reality TV star said she wasn't well enough to respond properly to the criticism at the time, but is now receiving support as she works through her recovery.

Kelly Osbourne Addresses Body-Shaming

Speaking to Hello! in an interview published on 31 August, Kelly reflected on the intense scrutiny she faced over her appearance following her father's death.

'I didn't navigate it, I wasn't well,' she said. 'How can you navigate something so cruel when you're so sick?'

The scrutiny intensified after Kelly appeared at the 2026 BRIT Awards in February, where she joined her mother, Sharon Osbourne, to pay tribute to Ozzy after he was posthumously honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Social media users questioned her slimmer appearance, with some speculating about weight-loss drugs and others expressing concern over how thin she looked.

Kelly later described the online comments as a 'special kind of cruelty', criticising people for turning her appearance and personal struggles into public speculation.

'I'm Getting a Lot Better'

Kelly said she is now making progress, with therapy helping her better understand herself.

'I'm getting a lot better. I've got all the help I need, and I'm grateful for the support I have in my life,' she said.

However, Kelly stressed that recovery is not something that happens overnight.

'You've got to fix the head before you can fix the body,' she said, describing the process as 'slow'. She added that she would not be 'fixed in a day' or after a single therapy session, instead calling recovery a 'lifetime of work'.

Kelly also credited the support network she has built around herself while navigating grief.

'I've got this incredible team of people I've built around me who are not just my friends,' she said.

'What you'll find when you're grieving is that people don't know how to handle it, and you do lose a lot of friends. But the ones who stick around are the real ones.'

Ozzy Osbourne's Death and Kelly's Grief

Ozzy died on 22 July 2025, aged 76, after suffering a heart attack. His death came weeks after he performed at a farewell Black Sabbath show in Birmingham.

Kelly has been open about the profound impact of losing her father. In February 2026, she admitted: 'It's the hardest thing I've ever been through in my life,' adding that she was 'not doing so great'.

Amid the intense scrutiny over Kelly's weight, her mother, Sharon, defended her daughter during an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, saying Kelly had struggled to eat following Ozzy's death.

'She's lost her daddy... she can't eat right now,' Sharon said, while criticising online commentators who used social media as a 'shield' to spread hate.

She also questioned how easily people judge others based on appearance, asking: 'How many times have we been wrong about somebody because of our perception?'

In her latest interview, Kelly said the past year had been 'the hardest year of my life'.

'I'll never be the person I was before my father died... a part of me died, too,' she said. 'Everything is different. I'm different. Everything has changed.'

A New Chapter in the UK

Kelly has also begun rebuilding her life in Britain after returning from Los Angeles with her three-year-old son, Sidney.

'I have so many reasons to keep going,' she said. 'I've got my baby boy, and he makes me the happiest person in the world.'

She added that being back in the UK had changed things for her and that she was focused on creating a life where her son is 'truly happy'.
