Kelly Osbourne has gained widespread attention following her appearance at the 2026 BRIT Awards in Manchester on Saturday, 28 February, alongside her mother, TV personality Sharon Osbourne.

The two graced the awards night to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her late father, the 'Prince of Darkness' and heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne. The mother-daughter duo paid tribute to Ozzy's legacy during the acceptance.

Spotlight Shines on Kelly's Physical Appearance

However, many people focused on Kelly's appearance—not just on what she was wearing or how well it suited her. She wore a figure-hugging black velvet gown with a feathery cover-up, paired with a blonde bob that completed the look.

Instead, much of the attention centred on her noticeable weight loss, with some calling it 'alarming'. Kelly's sunken cheeks and thin arms became the main focus, with critics describing the 41-year-old as 'too thin'.

As the discussion spread across social media platforms, Kelly did not let the criticism slide and quickly clapped back at her detractors.

Contrary to speculation linking her appearance to weight-loss drugs, Kelly's condition reportedly stems from grief following the death of her father last year. Ozzy Osbourne died in July 2025 at the age of 76. Now, friends of the TV personality are also stepping in to defend her.

Mia Tyler Slammed Critics Amid Kelly's Weight Loss

Daughter of Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, Mia Tyler came to Kelly's defence amid criticism of Kelly's weight loss.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, 2 March, Tyler appeared to respond to criticism surrounding the daughter of the late heavy metal legend. She captioned the lengthy statement, 'How hard is it to not be a d***?'

Tyler wrote: 'Public grief is not public property,' she started. 'Grief can change a person. That doesn't make their body a topic for debate'.

She continued: 'Before you comment on someone's body, consider the possibility that they're carrying something heavier than your opinion'.

Tyler also commended Kelly's fearless appearance on the red carpet, 'It takes real strength to stand in the public eye, accepting accolades for their late iconic father and hold themselves together in front of the world,' she wrote.

'The least we can do is show the same grace in return,' Tyler added. 'Kindness costs nothing. Cruelty costs character. It's unsettling how quickly people will dissect someone's appearance instead of honoring their courage'.

'If you have the energy to comment, you have the energy to be kind. Choose accordingly,' the daughter of Aerosmith's frontman concluded.

Kelly reshared the statement on her Instagram story, accompanied by the song 'Violent Nature by I Prevail—a track that opens with the lyrics, 'Shut the f*** up / do me a favour.'

Kelly's Hairstylist Rallies Behind Her After Body Shaming Comments

Meanwhile, Kelly's hairstylist and friend, Lino Carbosiero, rallies behind the star following the body shaming she has been receiving during the 'hardest time' of her life.

Carbosiero shared a photo on Instagram with Kelly where he is seen wrapping his arm around the TV personality.

The hairstylist captioned: 'Could you please send some love to my dear friend @kellyosbourne she's been so loyal, kind and supportive to me and my family throughout the years'.

'I've been cutting her hair since she was a kid and she is very special to me. Kelly, you only deserve the best! keep strong xxx,' he shared.

Kelly's Response to Body Shaming Comments

Following her red carpet appearance, Kelly responded to the body shaming comments she received.

Kelly urged fans to have compassion on her Instagram story, writing: 'There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most'.

She continued: 'None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character,' she continued. 'I'm currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanized in such a way!'

Meanwhile, her mother, Sharon, 73, previously shared on an episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored that her daughter has been struggling to eat since Ozzy's death, saying: 'She's lost her daddy... she can't eat right now'.
