Kirsten Dunst has revealed how awkward she felt during the filming of a sex scene with Colin Farrell for the movie The Beguiled. It was difficult for her to do the intense scene with her co-star because she has never liked performing such scenes in front of the camera, she said.

"I am on the floor and my clothes are being ripped," the 34-year-old actress told E! News. "I don't like it, I don't like it. To be honest, I'm like, 'Let's get this over with as fast as possible.'"

Dunst also said that male directors want "to shoot it from every angle" but when she teamed up with director Sofia Coppola for the third time, she assured her the scene would be done quickly. Dunst and Coppola previously teamed up for The Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette.

Farrell has said he tried to be as sensitive as possible while filming the part as he knows "it's harder for women" to do such scenes. Considering women have been sexuality exploited in the history of cinema, he always does what his female partners need to make them feel at ease during such scenes, the 40-year-old actor added.

"I really think a woman should be the boss completely in those scenes, whatever she needs to make her comfortable and allow her to have the freedom to do the job she needs to do," he said.

The movie is a remake of the 1971 movie of the same name. In the film Farrell plays the role of an injured Civil War soldier, who is given shelter at a girls' boarding school in Virginia. Farrell's character is so alluring that the girls become jealous and betray one another for his affection.

The cast of the film also includes Elle Fanning and Nicole Kidman. The Beguiled opens in theatres on 30 June.
