Mother of Missing Boy, Kyron Homan, Speaks Out After Son's Name Appears in Epstein Files
In a case built on absence, an anonymous tip can make a lot of noise without adding a single solid answer.

Kyron Horman, the Oregon schoolboy who vanished from Skyline Elementary School in Portland on 4 June 2010, has been pulled into the orbit of the newly released Epstein files after an anonymous tip to the FBI listed his name alongside other missing children. His mother, Desiree Young, has pushed back, telling KOIN 6 News by email that there are no connections between Epstein and Kyron.
For starters, Kyron Horman's disappearance has remained unsolved for nearly 16 years, despite repeated searches and sustained public attention in Oregon. What has changed this week is not a breakthrough in Portland, but a document trail in Washington, one that includes a tip alleging child trafficking in Canada and name checking Kyron as if he were a footnote in a far larger story.
Kyron Horman And The Tip Inside The Epstein Files
The Portland Tribune reports that Kyron Horman is mentioned in 'an anonymous tip to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Epstein files.' The publication says the file was first reported by The Oregonian and describes it as a tip about potential child trafficking in Thornhill, Ontario, Canada, which also cites other missing persons cases.
The tip reportedly claimed there had been reports over the years of an 'extensive Day Care/Adoption ring' in Thornhill. It also alleged that Epstein, described by the Tribune as 'the late financier and convicted sex offender,' had been spotted there 'with his hair dyed brown.'
The tip named Kyron Horman, Madeleine McCann and Haleigh Cummings, adding that several of the names were misspelt in the document. It went further claiming the alleged ring could be linked to money laundering or money movement in what the tipster called the 'Epstein/Clinton Foundation,' and it suggested ties to Hillary Clinton's brother.
Kyron Horman's Mother Rejects The Epstein Link
In the face of the noise, Desiree Young's response is blunt. As per the Tribune report, she noted that there are no connections between Epstein and Kyron in an email to KOIN 6 News.
The same report also returns readers to the basic facts of the Oregon case, the ones that have resisted tidy theories for more than a decade. Kyron was last seen at his Portland elementary school on 4 June 2010, and the last known person who saw him was his stepmother, Terri Horman. Despite 'annual efforts and hundreds of searches,' Kyron has never been found and no arrests have been made.
Kyron Horman's Case Review Continues In Oregon
Away from the Epstein files, investigators in Oregon say they are still working the case. The Tribune reports that Multnomah County investigators and prosecutors announced last year that they would be reexamining Kyron's disappearance with assistance from the FBI.
In a May 2025 announcement, Multnomah County Sheriff Nicole Morrisey O'Donnell said, 'We have never stopped searching for Kyron. We remain steadfast in our commitment to bring resolution to this case, for Kyron, for his family and for the community.'
She added that, 'With the support of our partners and the public, we are actively pursuing every credible investigative opportunity. Kyron and his family are at the heart of our work.'
