Liverpool are closing in on completing double deals for Benfica winger Lazar Markovic and Lille striker Divock Origi, according to Sky Sports.

The Serbian international is edging towards sealing his Anfield move in the next 48 hours, which could see the Merseyside club cough up £25m for his services. Markovic joined Benfica last summer from Partizan Belgrade and in his debut season, he won the domestic title in Portugal, making it four titles in a row with two different clubs.

Origi impressed with his performance for Lille, which saw him receive a call from Marc Wilmots for the Belgium squad for the World Cup. The 19-year-old scored the only goal against Russia in the group stages of the tournament.

The Merseyside club are set to complete a £10m move for Origi and the Belgium international could be the Reds' next summer signing after Markovic. The striker starred for his national side, despite their exit from the quarter finals of the World Cup.

Liverpool star Luis Suarez is a top transfer target for Barcelona and the Catalan club remain confident of sealing a deal for the Uruguayan international. Brendan Rodgers has already signed England striker Rickie Lambert from Southampton, who is not believed to be a replacement for the former Ajax man.

The departure of Suarez could force the former Swansea boss to enter into the transfer market in search of another striker.

The Liverpool Echo report claims Rodgers will allow Origi return to Lille on loan for a season after the Reds seal a deal for the Belgium striker. Rodgers could change his mind with Saurez's departure and give Origi a chance in Liverpool's starting XI next season after the teenager's impressive performance in the World Cup.

Liverpool return to the Champions League next season and they have already completed deals for Lambert, Adam Lallana and Emre Can. The sale of Suarez could see Rodgers have improved transfer funds in bringing top-quality players in the summer transfer window.
