Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski has agreed a transfer to an unnamed club and could sign a contract with them in "the next couple of hours".

Zielinksi, 21, has spent the season on loan at Serie A side Empoli for the second successive campaign but according to the player, Jurgen Klopp has already discussed a move to Anfield with him.

Dawid Chylaszek, who represents Zielinksi's agency BMG Sports, now claims an agreement with a club is already in place and believes the move could be finalised sooner rather than later. Chylaszek told Reviersport: "There is a lot of interest in Piotr Zielinksi. We are pretty far with one club already, and it could lead to a signature in the next couple of hours."

Zielinksi, who has also been named in Poland's 28-man provisional squad for Euro 2016, confirmed last month there was "a lot of truth" to rumours suggesting he will move to the Merseyside club this summer.

"There is a lot of truth in rumours about Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp is interested in me, we had some talks," Zielinski told Sportowe Fakty, Goal reported.

"I'm not thinking too much about it right now though, I've still got few games to play for Empoli and after that there is still the Euros in France.

Liverpool's campaign is not over with the Europa League final against Sevilla to follow on Wednesday 18 May but the club have already started planning for next season. The Reds have already struck a deal to sign Schalke defender Joel Matip, who will join up with his new club when his current contract expires in June.

Serbian talent Marko Grujic will also link up with his new club this summer. The 19-year-old midfielder signed for the Merseyside club in the January transfer window but remained on loan at Red Star Belgrade for the remainder of the season.
