Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre claims goalkeeper David de Gea and winger Angel Di Maria will leave Old Trafford this summer.

The Spain international has one year left on his contract and has long been linked with a move away from his current employers. Spanish newspaper AS claims De Gea is a target for Real Madrid, who could take the place of Iker Casillas in the starting XI at Santiago Bernabeu.

Di Maria joined United from Real Madrid for a British record transfer fee of £59.7m ($92.6m) last summer. Despite managing 10 assists in his debut season, the Argentine international has had a disappointing campaign and is reportedly unhappy with life in England.

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Di Maria, according to The Daily Mail. Silvestre believes the South American has failed to adjust to the Premier League, which is forcing him to leave United this summer.

"You would expect him [De Gea] to maybe be tempted to go to Real Madrid because that's his home country and it's a major club. But United can give him what he wants, which is winning trophies and enjoying himself," Silvestre told Sky Sports.

On Di Maria, the Frenchman said: "Over the years it's been difficult for South American players to adapt to the Premier League. I think the conditions, the culture and the demands of the Premier League in terms of physique and attitude are challenging."

"Even top players find it sometimes difficult. I wouldn't be surprised if he was also tempted to go to PSG. Let's be frank, Ligue 1 in France is not the Premier League, in terms of football you can't expect the same dimension, but Paris is a big club now."

Should Di Maria leave Old Trafford and join PSG, the former Real star is likely to be replaced by Barcelona's Pedro. El Pais reports the Spain international is closing in on completing a move to United in the ongoing summer transfer window.
