Evidence Under Scrutiny: Plan B Delivery, Texts, and Defense Claims in Misty Roberts Trial
Plan B delivery and testimonies bring new insights into Misty Roberts trial

Evidence including a Plan B delivery, text messages, and varying witness accounts emerge in the Misty Roberts trial, shedding new light on allegations of sexual misconduct involving a teenage boy in 2014.
During the trial of former DeRidder, Louisiana Mayor Misty Roberts, jurors were presented with testimony that a DoorDash driver dropped off Plan B emergency contraception in Roberts' home following the alleged sexual assault on a teenage boy.
The 43-year-old former mayor entered a new plea earlier this month after being re-arraigned on charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behaviour with a juvenile, as reported by The Advocate.
Son's Testimony, DoorDash Delivery, Texts Highlighted
Testimony this week included statements from a DoorDash driver who said he picked up an order for Plan B contraceptive placed under the name 'Misty C' and dropped off the item at Roberts' residence.
The DoorDash driver added that he was familiar with the home because he had once taken his children to the address for trick-or-treat, according to KPLC.
The prosecutors played portions of a 2025 interview with Misty Roberts' son in the trial, where he told forensic investigators he believed he saw his mother engage in sexual acts with a teenage boy, his friend, in July 2024. Her son's testimony is being closely scrutinised by jurors as the case unfolds.

According to reports, a disgraced former mayor of DeRidder, La., 43-year-old Misty Roberts, is on trial for third-degree rape after allegedly having sex with a drunken 16-year-old boy at a 2024 booze-fueled pool party—where her own kids reportedly… pic.twitter.com/OYZjACBfAy
Roberts' son said, 'They were — just, like — they were having s**.' He continued that he got into an argument with his mother, who was under the influence of alcohol and could not recall the incident.
When her son took the stand in court, however, he told Adam Johnson, Roberts' defence attorney, that he could not say with certainty what he had witnessed, explaining to the jurors that it only seemed that way in his 'human mind,' according to a report by People.
Also presented by the prosecution were text messages between the former mayor and her son, including when her son told her, 'He is seventeen,' referring to his friend. The victim was later confirmed to have been sixteen when the alleged crime took place.
Another witness called to the stand, Roberts' nephew, said during an interview with Annelise Eaglin, an interviewer with the Child Advocacy Centre in Alexandria in August of 2024, that he witnessed Roberts and a friend 'doing stuff' on the couch.
He said, 'From what I gathered, they were f-------.' When asked how this theory came to be, he explained that it was based on 'just the motion.' He also said Roberts was 'going crazy' when they headed downstairs.

The defence also questioned Roberts about a homecoming party at her residence in 2025, where drinking among underage guests occurred. Roberts claimed that another person had provided the alcohol and that she had no knowledge about the teenagers' drinking.
Trial Continues
Misty Roberts was arrested in August 2024 on allegations of third-degree rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles, as reported by the Louisiana State Police. Roberts stepped down as mayor of DeRidder just days before turning herself in.
Roberts' trial is expected to carry on, but the timeline for its conclusion remains uncertain. This is currently Roberts' second trial, after the first ended in a mistrial following the removal of two Beauregard Parish judges from the case, which led to the dismissal of her indictments. Her arraignment on the current charges took place early this year.
