The 2014 MTV Movie Awards took place on Sunday, 13 April in Los Angeles. The event, which was hosted by Conan O'Brien, was aired live on MTV.

The award show kicked off with Jared Leto continuing his winning streak by bagging the biggest on-screen transformation for Dallas Buyers Club - a role that won him an Oscar earlier this year.

"The Academy is really prestigious but this is unique because everybody has the right to vote and you get people from all over the world that chime in and say whatever you want to say so it means a lot," said Leto backstage of his win, as per The Hollywood Reporter. "It's nice to be able to get up on stage and to thank people directly," he added.

The ceremony also honoured Mark Wahlberg and Channing Tatum, who won the Generation Award and MTV Trailblazer Award respectively.

New clips of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Fault in Our Stars were revealed during the show.
