Musk's Estranged Daughter Shares Haunting Holiday Memory Following Revelations He Planned Epstein Island Visit
Vivian Wilson posts about dark Caribbean sea crossing from childhood

Elon Musk's estranged daughter has broken her silence following the release of explosive emails showing her father coordinated travel plans with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, sharing a haunting childhood memory that has intensified scrutiny over the tech mogul's past connections.
Vivian Jenna Wilson, 21, took to Threads on Friday to share a cryptic post about Caribbean travels from her youth, writing: 'There was this boat ride from St Vincent to St Barth's I remember from when I was little. We used to visit around the holidays. I remember the sea being so dark at night.' The post came just hours after the US Department of Justice released over three million pages of documents related to Epstein investigations, including email exchanges between the Tesla CEO and the disgraced financier.
Email Trail Reveals Island Visit Plans
The newly released files, which also include 180,000 images and 2,000 videos, expose a December 2013 email thread in which Musk discussed visiting Little Saint James, Epstein's notorious private island in the Caribbean. According to the Justice Department documents, Musk wrote to Epstein: 'Will be in the BVI/St Bart's area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?'
Epstein responded by offering flexibility with dates between 1 January and 8 January, adding: 'Always space for you... The 2 or 3 would be perfect. I will come and get you.' The exchange continued with logistical discussions about travel arrangements, though it remains unclear whether the visit actually took place. Wilson would have been approximately nine years old when these emails were exchanged.
In an earlier November 2012 email, Musk asked Epstein a particularly damning question: 'What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?' The question directly contradicts Musk's longstanding claims that he repeatedly refused Epstein's invitations to visit the island. Despite previously claiming that he refused Epstein's invite to his island, emails show Musk repeatedly following up on arrangements to go.
Musk Defends Limited Contact
Following the release, Musk posted a lengthy statement on X defending his position. 'No one pushed harder than me to have the Epstein files released and I'm glad that has finally happened,' he wrote. 'I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his "Lolita Express", but was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name.'
The billionaire continued: 'I don't care about that, but what I do care about is that we at least attempt to prosecute those who committed serious crimes with Epstein, especially regarding heinous exploitation of underage girls.' However, the emails reveal at least 16 exchanges between the two men in 2012 and 2013, with multiple instances of Musk expressing interest in visiting Epstein's Caribbean properties.
Additional correspondence shows the two discussed SolarCity potentially electrifying Epstein's island or New Mexico ranch. In one October 2012 email, Musk forwarded questions from Epstein to his cousin Peter Rive, a SolarCity founder, about the project. Musk had personally invested in SolarCity and sat on the company's board before Tesla acquired it in 2016.
Strained Father-Daughter Relationship
Wilson's cryptic social media post takes on additional significance given her severely strained relationship with her father. The transgender activist legally changed her name in 2022, abandoning the Musk surname in favour of her mother Justine Wilson's maiden name. In court documents, she stated she 'no longer live[s] with or wish to be related to [her] biological father in any way, shape or form'.
The 21-year-old has previously described Musk as 'quick to anger' and 'uncaring', characterising their past interactions as distant. She noted he was present 'maybe 10 per cent of the time' during her upbringing. In interviews, Wilson has stated that there was a marked difference in how her parents responded to her coming out. She said her mother, Justine Wilson, was immediately supportive, recognising her identity and offering reassurance. In contrast, she said Musk was 'not as supportive', noting they had not spoken for months when she needed his consent for hormone blockers and hormone replacement therapy.
Musk's public comments about transgender issues, including referring to his trans child as 'killed by the woke mind virus' and claiming he was 'tricked' into signing medical consent documents, have further damaged their relationship. Wilson has contested these claims, stating her father knew the treatment details and was not misled.
What matters is not release of some subset of the Epstein files, but rather the prosecution of those who committed heinous crimes with Epstein.

When there is at least one arrest, some justice will have been done. If not, this is all performative. Nothing but a distraction. https://t.co/N0ili1ZUbz
Massive Document Release Under Transparency Act
The Friday release represents the largest tranche of Epstein-related materials disclosed to date, following passage of the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November 2025. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche announced the department was releasing more than three million pages of documents, calling it 'the end of a very comprehensive document identification and review process to ensure transparency to the American people'.
The files also revealed connections between Epstein and other high-profile figures, including President Donald Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Being named in the documents does not suggest wrongdoing, as many references simply document meetings or email correspondence. Epstein, the late financier, was convicted in 2008 of soliciting a minor and was later accused of running a sex trafficking network involving underage girls. He was arrested on federal sex trafficking charges in July 2019 and found dead in his cell just over a month later.
Musk has not been accused of any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein. Representatives for the Tesla CEO did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding Wilson's post or the newly released emails.
The Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law by President Trump on 19 November 2025, required the Justice Department to publicly release all unclassified records relating to investigations and prosecutions of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell within 30 days. The DOJ missed this deadline, releasing less than one per cent of files initially before Friday's massive disclosure. The act passed Congress with overwhelming bipartisan support amid intense public pressure for transparency regarding Epstein's crimes and connections to powerful individuals.
