Did Nancy Guthrie Face More Than One Kidnapper? Ex-NYPD Points to 'Blood Droplets' in New Suspect Plot
Fresh evidence suggests the possibility of multiple perpetrators in the abduction of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie.

Nancy Guthrie has now been missing for more than a month, and the search for the 84-year-old, who was taken on 1 February, appears stalled. Yet as official leads run dry, fresh scrutiny of the case is raising a chilling new question: was there more than one kidnapper? New analysis of the available evidence may point to multiple abductors at the scene.
Did Nancy Guthrie Face Multiple Abductors?
Since the abduction, authorities have been scouring evidence at Guthrie's residence in the Catalina Foothills, a suburb of Tucson. Surveillance footage released by the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff's Department shows a masked, armed individual tampering with a doorbell camera outside Guthrie's home shortly before she disappeared.
Although the evidence shows one possible kidnapper, many believe that there were multiple individuals involved in the kidnapping. Now, retired NYPD Sergeant Joe Giacalone is weighing in on the abduction and suggesting that there could have been multiple perpetrators involved.
In a recent episode of the True Crime with the Sarge and Sinister with Josh Zeman podcast series, Giacalone shared his thoughts on the octogenarian's disappearance. According to the former sergeant, one person would not be enough to complete the task of taking Guthrie from her home.
'I believe there's a strong likelihood of more than one perpetrator, because you know, listen, it didn't appear that they had a vehicle waiting out front ready to take her away, right?' Giacalone said.
He then added that the evidence suggests Guthrie and one of her abductors were possibly waiting for another kidnapper before the criminals succeeded in taking the woman away.
'It seemed like she could have been waiting at the door for a while; that's where all the blood droplets are coming from, waiting for their ride, so to speak,' Giacalone said.
A Community Gripped By A Month-Long Mystery
Guthrie was reported missing on 1 February after family members found her personal belongings, which included her phone, wallet and medication, were still inside her home. Investigators immediately treated the case as a potential abduction due to her limited mobility and health conditions.
Her daughter, Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, as well as her other adult children, have since offered a $1 million reward to anyone who could provide evidence that will lead to their mother's safe return. Unfortunately, there are still no notable leads that could aid in finding the missing woman.
Earlier last week, it was suggested that Guthrie may have been stalked by her would-be kidnapper for several weeks before she was reported missing. A neighbour came forward, stating that she had seen a mysterious masked stranger around their community. The unidentified man was reportedly spotted heading towards Guthrie's home.
Unfortunately, the neighbour was unable to provide photographic or video evidence of the mysterious man, who she described as someone who 'just didn't fit' in the neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, Arizona residents are expressing their fear as many believe the neighbourhood is no longer as safe as they initially thought. For instance, Guthrie's neighbour, who had shared information about the possible abductor, declared that they would be installing security cameras to keep an eye on suspicious activities around the community.
