Netflix's live-action One Piece is officially charting its return, and fans now have a firm date to circle in their calendars. After months of speculation, production updates and teaser reveals, the streamer has confirmed that One Piece Season 2, officially titled ONE PIECE: Into the Grand Line, will premiere on 10 March 2026.

The announcement was first confirmed by Netflix, with further details later shared via Entertainment Weekly. Here is everything we know so far about One Piece Season 2 live-action, from cast additions to plot details and what lies ahead for Luffy and the Straw Hats.

Release Date, Trailer and Production Update

One Piece Season 2 premieres on Tuesday 10 March 2026 exclusively on Netflix. Production has officially wrapped.

The first teaser was unveiled during the annual One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo in August, while the full official trailer debuted on 10 February 2026, exactly one month before launch.

The three-minute trailer previews the Straw Hats entering the unpredictable Grand Line, introducing new adversaries, fantastical creatures and major manga characters. Viewers get glimpses of Laboon the whale, dinosaurs, and several new antagonists, alongside expansive new settings.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the season will continue directly from the events of Season 1, which ended with Luffy and his crew setting sail towards the Grand Line after liberating Nami's hometown and defying Vice Admiral Garp.

What Is One Piece Season 2 About?

According to Netflix's official synopsis, Season 2 will raise the stakes considerably:

Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world's greatest treasure, they'll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies'.

Season 2 will cover major arcs from the manga, including 'Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Capes), Whiskey Peak, Little Island, and Drum Island' as confirmed in a letter shared by series creator Eiichiro Oda.

Tony Tony Chopper will officially join the story this season, voiced and facially performed by Mikaela Hoover. Dr. Kureha will also play a significant role, with co-showrunner Matt Owens previously revealing: 'When the Season 2 writers' room got together, we knew how far we were going to get and that this character Dr. Kureha was going to be a big part of the season'.

Taz Skylar also described the thematic shift of the Grand Line to Entertainment Weekly:

He says it is 'where everybody has their rulebook on how the world is supposed to work, how gravity is supposed to work, how physics is supposed to work and every one solves problems within that'.

'I think the Grand Line signifies crossing that moment of no return where you enter into a world where your usual way of solving problems no longer applies and you have to start from scratch on some of the biggest problems', he continued. 'The fastest problems are the most dangerous problems you ever have in your life, and I think that's what every Straw Hat is doing as soon as they enter the Grand Line. I think each of us deal with it in a different way'.

Cast: New Characters and Major Additions

Returning cast members include Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Season 2 significantly expands its ensemble. New additions include Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha, Mark Harelik as Dr. Hiriluk, Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefertari Cobra and Lera Abova as Miss All-Sunday, among many others.

Creator Eiichiro Oda also visited the South Africa set during filming. In a letter shared by Netflix, he wrote: 'My own casting selections were made from Japan over photos and videos, but seeing them all in person convinced me: They were absolutely the perfect choice!" Oda wrote in a letter from his visit, adding that the vibe on set "was just the best!'

With Season 3 already renewed, One Piece Season 2 marks the beginning of a far larger voyage.
