The State of Play showcase delivered one of the busiest PlayStation presentations in recent memory, but it was the God of War remake that quickly dominated conversation.

Sony closed the hour-long broadcast with confirmation that the original Greek saga is returning, alongside a surprise spin-off that is already available to play. For many viewers, those announcements alone would have been enough to define the show.

Yet the State of Play event wasn't a single-game spotlight. The presentation moved rapidly through dozens of reveals, trailers, updates, and release date confirmations across first-party studios and major third-party partners. From stealth reboots and sci-fi shooters to horror sequels and nostalgic remasters, the showcase painted a packed picture of PlayStation's upcoming slate.

With so many announcements packed into just over 60 minutes, here is a full breakdown of the biggest reveals, including the God of War remake, brand-new titles, surprise demos, and every major game shown during the presentation.

God of War Remake and Sons of Sparta

The State of Play closed with two major announcements from Santa Monica Studio. First, Sony confirmed that a remake of the original God of War Greek trilogy is now in early development. The remake aims to revisit Kratos' earliest adventures with modern visuals and gameplay systems, although specific release details were not revealed.

Alongside the remake, the studio surprised viewers with God of War Sons of Sparta, a 2D action platformer created in partnership with Mega Cat Studios. Even more surprising, the spin-off launched immediately on PS5 following the announcement, giving fans a new way to experience Kratos' world.

007 First Light

IO Interactive debuted a new story trailer for 007 First Light, its original take on the early life of James Bond. The footage showed the future agent operating in Iceland before being recruited into the revived 00 programme.

Bond is trained by former agent John Greenway, and the story centres on the pair hunting down a rogue operative known as 009. The game promises a cinematic espionage experience built around IO's stealth expertise.

4: Loop

Bad Robot Games returned with more details on its four-player co-op shooter 4: Loop. Chief Creative Officer Mike Booth outlined the core gameplay systems, including the central loop mechanics that define missions.

The studio also teased upcoming beta opportunities, suggesting players may get hands-on time with the title before launch.

Beast of Reincarnation

Game Freak revealed Beast of Reincarnation, an action RPG set in a sci-fi inspired future Japan. Players control Emma, a blight-corrupted outcast, alongside her companion Koo.

The gameplay mixes real-time sword combat with command-based mechanics for Koo, blending action and tactical elements. The game launches on PS5 on 4 August.

Brigandine Abyss

The Brigandine strategy series returns with Brigandine Abyss, the first new entry since The Legend of Runersia. The fantasy strategy RPG again features hex-grid battles, while introducing new systems. It marks a revival of a franchise that first appeared on the original PlayStation in 1998.

Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

Konami, Evil Empire, and Motion Twin are collaborating on Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, a new 2D action-exploration title. The game aims to recapture classic Gothic gameplay with new weapons, abilities, and a modern art style.

Control Resonant

Remedy Entertainment revealed Control Resonant, a new entry set in the supernatural world of Control. The game features shape-shifting weapons, gravity anomalies, and reality-bending combat.

Players will navigate a distorted Manhattan while battling otherworldly threats using supernatural abilities.

Crimson Moon

Crimson Moon is a Gothic action-adventure RPG from ProbablyMonsters. Players can tackle missions solo or in co-op, with dynamic difficulty scaling depending on the number of participants. The game is scheduled to launch later this year on PS5.

Darwin's Paradox

Darwin's Paradox, the quirky octopus-led action title, received a release date of 2 April. A demo inspired by Metal Gear Solid will also launch on PS5, giving players an early look at its stealth-focused gameplay.

Dead or Alive 6 Last Round

Team Ninja announced Dead or Alive 6 Last Round for PS5, launching 25 June. The updated version will include both a standard and free-to-play edition. The studio also teased that a brand-new entry in the fighting franchise is in development.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Kojima Productions confirmed that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is coming to PC on 19 March. The PC version will include new features and modes, which will also arrive on PS5 via an update.

Ghost of Yōtei Legends

Sucker Punch revealed Ghost of Yōtei Legends, a cooperative multiplayer update launching 10 March. The free update introduces character classes, new mission types, and a future raid.

John Wick Game

Saber Interactive confirmed development of a John Wick game that tells a previously unseen chapter in the assassin's life. The studio promises cinematic environments, gun-fu combat, and intense driving sequences. No release date or final title has been announced.

Kena: Scars of Kosmora

Ember Lab unveiled Kena: Scars of Kosmora, a new adventure starring an older version of the spirit guide. The game introduces new companions, abilities, and elemental combat mechanics. It launches later this year on PS5 and PC.

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered

Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered arrives 3 March on PS5 and PS4. The remaster features visual upgrades, improved controls, and archival content. The Deluxe Edition also includes a playable demo of the cancelled sequel, Dark Prophecy.

Marathon

Bungie confirmed that Marathon launches 5 March. Ahead of release, a Server Slam event on 26 February will allow players to try select content and earn rewards.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches 6 August on PS5 and PC. The fighting game revealed three new characters: Magik, Wolverine, and Danger. Pre-orders open 19 February, and the game includes a dedicated Episode Mode.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2

Konami announced Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 for PS5, launching 27 August. The collection includes Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Peace Walker, and Ghost Babel.

Mina the Hollower

Yacht Games showcased new gameplay for Mina the Hollower, with a PS5 demo arriving soon. The game features more than 25 bosses, dozens of upgrades, and a dense world to explore.

Neva: Prologue

Neva: Prologue launches 19 February. The DLC serves as a prequel, showing how Alba first met the wolf cub Neva.

PlayStation Plus Announcements

Sony also announced several titles for PlayStation Plus. Big Walk will launch day one into Monthly Games, while Tekken Dark Resurrection and Time Crisis join the Classics catalogue.

February's Game Catalog includes Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, Neva, and Season: A Letter to the Future.

Pragmata

Capcom's sci-fi adventure Pragmata received a new gameplay look and a release date of 24 April. Players will control Hugh and his android companion Diana in a mix of combat and hacking.

Project Windless

Project Windless is a dark fantasy open-world RPG inspired by the Korean novel The Bird That Drinks Tears. Players take control of a warrior from the bird-like Rekon race.

Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition

The original Rayman returns with a 30th Anniversary Edition launching digitally on PS5 on 13 February. The package includes multiple versions of the classic game, bonus levels, and a re-imagined soundtrack.

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom showed a new launch trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, which arrives 27 February. The footage teased story developments and action sequences from the upcoming horror title.

Rev.Noir

Konami revealed Rev.Noir, a JRPG set in a world threatened by a deadly phenomenon called lightfall. The story follows a boy with lost memories and a mysterious girl on a journey to stop the disaster.

Saros

Housemarque shared more details about Saros, its sci-fi shooter launching 30 April. The game features armour upgrades, a modifier system, and world-altering eclipse events.

Silent Hill: Townfall

Silent Hill: Townfall received a new look at its first-person perspective and CRT-style device, which will help players solve puzzles and uncover the story.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a high-stakes racing game set in the Outer Rim. Players compete across different planets in unsanctioned races.

Yakoh Shinobi Ops

Yakoh Shinobi Ops is a four-player isometric stealth action game coming next year. Teams of ninjas must infiltrate enemy territory while avoiding traps and an unstoppable pursuer.
