Djokovic is the defending champion of the Paris Masters and is one of the firm favourites to win the tournament once again this year. A comfortable straight set victory over Andy Murray was sufficient for him to clinch the title in 2015.
Murray is another contender to win the BNP Paribas Masters and is also challenging the 29-year-old Serbian for the World No 1 spot. The latter is the current World No 1 and the Wimbledon champion has an opportunity to take that spot.
However, it will be difficult for Murray to dislodge Djokovic from the top spot, especially since he has won the tournament on four occasions, with the last three coming in the last three years.
The World No 1 is set to have an easy run in the second round clash against Muller. He has never managed a victory over Djokovic in the three matches they have played in the past. Muller will be hoping he can clinch his first win in the second round of the BNP Paribas Masters on Wednesday.
