One young man died and another was injured in the smash Paul Wright

Three men have been arrested after a young man was killed and another injured by a hit-and-run crash in east London. The car collided with two pedestrians in Old Street at 4.25am on Tuesday (29 March).

A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene while another, also in his 20s, was taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be serious.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene and investigators were collecting evidence throughout Tuesday at the site of the crash, at the junction with Vince Street. Two police tents had been erected on either side of the road.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, who have yet to recover the car involved, arrested three men on Tuesday evening. They have all been taken to a south London police station for questioning.
