A man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering after $8.5m (£5m) was found inside a flat in east London.

Police were called after bailiffs with a warrant discovered the stacks of money at an address in Wards Wharf Apartments, Newham.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and has been bailed until August pending further enquires.

Met Police are currently in the process of checking if the money is real.
