Prince William will host a special dinner at Windsor Castle.

Prince William is preparing to open the doors of Windsor Castle for a good cause.

The Duke of Cambridge will host a star-studded dinner to raise money for the Royal Marsden cancer charity.

Among the guest will be fashion giant Ralph Lauren, who will be flying to the UK especially.

The 31-year-old prince paid a touching tribute to his late mother Princess Dianna, who was a big supporter of the charity, by becoming its president in 2007.

During his time in the role he has regularly visited patients and helped launched a number of fundraising campaigns.

In 2011 he opened a £18m children's cancer unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Surrey.

Although the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George are not due to attend the charity event, fans will be hoping that they make a surprise appearance on the night.

The charity dinner will take place on Tuesday (13 May).
