Twilight fans were eagerly waiting to see if Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart would reunite at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards.

The final installment of the hugely successful vampire-themed fantasy series of films, based on novels of the same name by Stephenie Meyer, won a total of seven awards at the event. Adding on, Stewart, who played Bella Swan, received awards for Choice Movie Actress (Sci-Fi/Fantasy) and Choice Movie Actress (Romance), while Robert Pattinson, who played vampire Edward Cullen won Choice Movie Actor (Romance).

"Kristen had no problem whatsoever going to the Teen Choice Awards, but she was only going to go if Rob also went," a friend close to Stewart told Hollywood Life, "It was primarily Rob's decision not to go. He has been wanting to distance himself from the Twilight films for quite some time now. Kristen felt kind of hurt that Rob is so eager to move away with anything that has to do with the franchise. In a way, she takes it kind of personally."

Stewart and Pattinson ended their four-year relationship after the 23-year-old actress was caught cheating with married director Rupert Sanders last August. Though they patched up their differences and started dating again, the two broke up in May, after Pattinson pulled out of 27th birthday celebrations planned by Stewart.

Pattinson was recently spotted leaving Stewart's home in Los Angeles, sparking fresh rumours that their relationship could be back on. However, an insider revealed that it's "far from happening."

"Rob and Kristen have a strained relationship," the source said, adding that Pattinson thought it would be "odd" to be reunite with Stewart "in a public setting with their peers."
