AS Roma striker Mattia Destro has welcomed rumours linking him with a move to Arsenal.

The Italian striker, who was linked to the Gunners, had admitted earlier that he will consider his future at the end of the current campaign, as he is not getting regular game time at the Serie A club. Club manager Rudi Garcia also made a remark about, how Destro needs to improve his character.

"Am I a bad character? I want to answer this gossip with goals on the pitch!" Destro said, as quoted by Goal.

"It's right that the coach makes his decisions. At the end of the season, I'll make mine."

The former Siena striker believes that the Arsenal rumours are good as it means that he is performing well. But he also insisted that, he is learning a lot from Roma boss Rudi Garcia.

"Arsenal for me? The rumours are good, I'm happy for them. This is proof that I'm doing my work well," the Italian international added.

"There are so many things that I can improve on. I must never stop and continue to learn new things."

"The coach encourages me a lot, he is teaching me some things, and I try to show my skills on the pitch, as well as the confidence he has in me," the former Genoa forward explained.

Destro has been previously linked with Arsenal after reports suggested that Arsene Wenger was preparing a move for the striker during the 2014 January transfer window.

Apart from the Gunners, their arch north London rivals Tottenham were also linked with a move for the forward this summer, but the Italian decided to remain with the Serie A club until at least next summer.
