The suspected paedophile has handed himself in after eight years on the run Alpha

Ronnie Barker's fugitive son has turned himself in eight years after going on the run while being investigated for child porn offences.

Adam, 44, of no fixed address, was charged with five counts of child pornography offences after attending a west London police station.

The suspected paedophile jumped bail in 2004 after being released on bail following his arrest during Operation Ore probe into child abuse images.

Police allegedly found 1,200 indecent images of children on a computer found at his home in Ealing, west London, during a raid in 2003.

The struggling actor, who appeared in BBC shows Casualty and Monarch of the Glen, missed both of his parents' funerals, which were monitored by Scotland Yard.

He has been unable to collect his share of his father's £6 million will.

He is scheduled to appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court later today.
