This is one scrap you don't want to get caught up in - burly rugby players throwing punches at each other during a World Cup qualifying match.

The contest between Belgium and Georgia turned into the Brawl of Brussels, just minutes after play got under way at the King Baudouin Stadium in the city.

In the midst of the fighting was Georgian giant Mamuka Gorgodze, who usually plays for Montpellier in France.

The fighting featured plenty of shoves and grapples, with fewer punches thrown. When the turbulent scene died down, the combatants reformed to being players and resumed the game.

But there was no more on-pitch action for two props. Maxime Jadot of Belgium and Davit Kubraishvili of Georgia were both sent off by the referee for their role in the ruckus.

Georgia went on to win the qualifying game for the 2015 World Cup 17-13.
