Southampton manager Ronald Koeman appears to have spoken out about the loss of so many of the players we would have been hoping to inherit.

Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren have all gone to Liverpool with the Anfield side also eyeing up Jay Rodriguez, while Calum Chambers is heading to Arsenal, who have also been linked to Morgan Schneiderlin.

With that in mind, Koeman's decision to tweet this could easily be a sign of his frustration or a simple faux pas (which has been re-tweeted over 6,000 times at the time of writing).

Naturally this provoked some funny replies.

After a pretty stellar season for Southampton last year under Mauricio Pochettino (now Tottenham boss) it was inevitable that some of the standout players would be moving on to pastures new. Even so the moves that have been made and the number of them have made the raiding of Southampton one of the most potentially devastating in recent memory.

That said Southampton will have received in excess of £80m for the players, which Koeman will be hoping is slipped into his transfer budget for the summer.

With the Premier League season less than three weeks away however, he may need to make moves in the market sooner rather than later.
