British television presenter and style icon, Alexa Chung has been announced as the host of this year's Scottish Fashion Awards to be held in Glasgow on 11 June, 2012.

The organisers have also announced the names of shortlisted candidates for the awards ceremony. The annual event recognises the most influential global Scottish players in fashion and provides an unrivalled platform for new and emerging talent hailing from Scotland.

The award ceremony is attended by influential industry leaders, designers, models, retailers and celebrities and celebrates the best of what Scotland has to offer in fashion, design and textiles.

Included in the list of nominees are fashion designer Jonathan Saunders, Holly Fulton and Louise Gray.

Tali Lennox, daughter of singing success Annie, has also been nominated for two Scottish Fashion Awards. Tali has been selected for both the Model of the Year and Scottish Fashion Icon category following a successful year of style both on and off the catwalk.

The Telegraph reported that though she stands a good chance of winning the Best Model category, she faces stiff competition from the other 11 candidates for the Fashion Icon award, with Tilda Swinton, Emeli Sandé and Doctor Who's Karen Gillan also in the running, as well as actor Gerard Butler and music producer Calvin Harris. The award is the only one to be decided by the Scottish public, while the rest are put down to the careful consideration of an esteemed panel of 17 judges which include fashion journalist Sarah Mower CBE, photographer Rankin and chief executive of the British Fashion Council Caroline Rush.

The finalists will be judged by an exclusive panel made up of professionals from the world's leading fashion houses, industry players and leading figures in style including photographer Rankin, Sara Maino from Italian Vogue, Paula Reed from Grazia, Joanna Coles from Marie-Claire and Eilidh MacAskill from InStyle.

Following this, there will be a glittering awards ceremony and gala held at the Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow, Scotland where the winners will be announced. The event will feature nominee catwalk shows, top music acts and an exclusive Swarovski runway show.
