Tottenham have launched a bid to sign winger Florian Thauvin from Ligue 1 club Olympique Marseille.

According to the Express, Spurs are interested in signing the French winger, who has also been a target for Arsenal and Chelsea in the past.

Mauricio Pochettino is on the market to get forward reinforcements and is keen to add another winger to the squad. Apart from the Frenchman the north London club is also reportedly interested in Ajax winger Memphis Depay, and if reports are to be believed, they have already had their bid accepted by the Eredivisie club.

Thauvin, who moved to Marseille last summer, did so after going on strike at his former club Lille, but his performance for the Ligue 1 club have vindicated his actions and he is now projected as a star of the future.

Even Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, has praised the 21-year-old winger and feels he is one of the brightest prospects in French football, and is expecting great things from his compatriot.

"For me, he is one of the big prospects of French football. He will go higher. He is only 20. His progress now will not depend on his talent but on his mentality," Wenger said, as quoted in the Mirror.

However, reports claim that Marseille have told the interested clubs that Thauvin will not be sold under any circumstances, and the club's president Vincent Labrune is expecting the winger to take his game to a new level with the Ligue 1 club.

"He is one of the greatest talents of his generation. OM have great hopes for him. I hope this year will be Thauvin's year," Labrune said.

"He's done the perfect preparation. I'm hoping he will explode."

Apart from Tottenham, La Liga champions Atletico Madrid have also shown an interest in signing the Frenchman.
